Switchboard Operator

Job Description:

We are seeking a Switchboard Operator to provide efficient and courteous support by answering and directing calls and inquiries to the appropriate individuals or departments, while also supporting general administrative and front-desk activities.

The location for this position is Appleton, WI.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Route ~400 calls per day to the appropriate individuals within the organization.
• Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate department or individual.
• Manage web inquiry questions from customers and route to the correct individuals within the organization.
• Review and respond to time sensitive communications such as social media responses, emails, etc.
• Work well within the customer support team to identify improvement projects, scheduling rotation, vacations, and share information learned from internal divisions and customers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of two years of experience working in a customer service environment is preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional growth through experiences, exposure, and ongoing training an/or education.
• Positive, enthusiastic, and self-motivated, with a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Experience with computerized phone system knowledge preferred, with the ability and willingness to learn new software and technology.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office and Email systems such as Outlook with a high level of comfort in moving between multiple information systems.
• Ability to make sound customer-oriented decisions in a fast-paced environment while effectively managing multiple priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to compose professional emails.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
