    Join STERIS as a Swiss CNC Lathe Setup & Operator

    What a Typical Shift Looks Like

    You arrive ready to own your setup. You review the router and blueprint, choose the right tooling, and set up a Swiss-type CNC lathe or CNC milling center. You make precise offsets and limited program edits to hold tight dimensions. Throughout the run, you verify features with micrometers and calipers, keep productivity on pace, and assist less-experienced operators when needed. You close the shift with accurate parts that meet every dimensional requirement and a clean, safe workstation that reflects STERIS standards.

    Schedule

    3:15 PM – 1:45 AM, Monday through Thursday

    Key Responsibilities

    • Interpret blueprints and routers to meet production and quality targets.
    • Set up and operate a Swiss-type CNC lathe or a CNC milling center for varied jobs.
    • Perform limited program editing and offset adjustments to maintain specifications.
    • Use inspection tools, including calipers and micrometers, to verify quality while maintaining throughput.
    • Operate in accordance with general plant policies and workplace rules.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 3–5 years of CNC machining experience or a related technical degree.
    • Ability to read and understand blueprints, process routers, and Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Fine motor skills to perform precision operations.

    Physical and Visual Requirements

    • Primarily standing; limited sitting.
    • Occasional bending and twisting.
    • Move parts up to 50 lbs between workstations.
    • Visual acuity sufficient to detect subtle non-conformities.
