Position Summary
Goldfish Swim School – Katy is looking for energetic, dependable individuals who enjoy working with children and want to make a meaningful difference. Swim Instructors teach water-safety skills and proper swimming techniques using the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
No certification is required to get started—we provide training!
Responsibilities
  • Provide engaging swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
  • Enforce all safety rules and procedures to help prevent accidents.
  • Evaluate student progress and complete required documentation on time.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians about their child’s progress and skill development.
  • Serve as a Goldfish Swim School ambassador by creating a positive experience for every family.
  • Use patience, creativity, and problem-solving skills to help students overcome challenges.
  • Inspect the pool and deck areas before and after classes for maintenance, cleanliness, or safety concerns.
  • Report maintenance issues, accidents, and incidents to management and complete all required documentation.
  • Properly set up, remove, and store lane lines and other pool equipment.
  • Occasionally perform light cleaning duties, including deck mopping, window cleaning, and trash removal.
  • Attend required paid workshops and in-service training sessions.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Experience working with children as a lifeguard, youth sports instructor, coach, camp counselor, babysitter, or childcare provider is strongly preferred.
  • Previous swimming experience is helpful but not required.
  • Must be dependable, enthusiastic, patient, and comfortable working with children and families.
Certifications
A valid lifeguard certification—including CPR, AED, and First Aid—is required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment or at the next (in house) LG certification class.
Work Environment
This position is performed in an indoor pool environment where employees are regularly exposed to heat and humidity. The noise level is generally moderate.

Compensation: $9.50 - $12.00 per hour

Each Goldfish Swim School is an independently owned and operated franchise. The respective Franchisee is the employer at each Goldfish Swim School location. Each franchisee can set their own wages, benefit programs and terms and conditions of employment, which may vary at each Goldfish Swim School location.
