Big Blue Swim School is committed to investing in your professional future.Swim Coach RequirementsMust be at least 18 years oldMinimum 2 years of competitive swimming experience (club, high school, or collegiate level preferred)Strong knowledge of competitive swim strokes, starts, turns, and race strategyFamiliarity with swim team etiquette, meet protocols, and team cultureUSA Swimming or equivalent coaching certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)Current Lifeguard/CPR Certification required (can be obtained during onboarding at Big Blue)Excellent communication skills for engaging with swimmers, parents, and staffAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain on your feet for extended periodsAbility to work in and around the water for 15–25 hours per weekAvailability to work weeknights and at least one weekend daySwim Coach ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver structured coaching sessions aligned with Big Blue's curriculum and competitive swim team development goalsInstruct swimmers in proper technique for all four competitive strokes, as well as starts, turns, and finishesFoster a positive, competitive, and inclusive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship and swim etiquetteEvaluate swimmer progress regularly and maintain accurate records using approved performance criteriaCommunicate professionally and proactively with swimmers and families regarding progress, goals, and upcoming eventsAdhere to all aquatic safety guidelines and emergency procedures at all timesAssist with front desk responsibilities and help maintain a clean, safe facilityParticipate in ongoing professional development and coaching training as scheduledRepresent Big Blue Swim School with a high level of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasmOther duties as assignedWork Location:In person - Cottonwood Heights, UT (84121).
