Client is looking for a Senior Vice President to join its Global Risk Management team in New York, with a focus on Project Finance activities across the United States and Canada.

Description

  • Conduct independent credit, financial, structural, and risk assessments of project finance transactions across sectors such as renewable energy, energy transition, oil and gas, LNG, pipelines, and infrastructure.
  • Analyze and validate project finance models, including revenue assumptions, operating costs, cash flow generation, debt repayment capacity, debt service coverage ratios (DSCR), and other key credit metrics.
  • Evaluate tax equity and back-leverage financing structures, including cash flow impacts, allocation of tax benefits, partnership economics, flip structures, and sponsor buyout mechanisms.
  • Identify and assess major project risks, including construction, operational, counterparty, regulatory, political, sponsor, geographic, and market-related risks.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit approval memoranda and risk assessments for local and global Risk Committees in coordination.
  • Present transaction analyses, portfolio reviews, and key credit considerations to senior risk management and committee members.
  • Support ongoing portfolio management activities, including covenant monitoring, waiver and amendment requests, credit reviews, and risk rating updates.Maintain portfolio and pipeline reports to provide timely and accurate information to management and stakeholders.
  • Partner with origination, syndication, legal, and portfolio management teams to facilitate transaction execution while preserving independent risk oversight.
  • Ensure credit files and supporting documentation remain complete and compliant with internal audit, regulatory, and risk management standards.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degrees are advantageous.
  • Minimum 7 years of project finance experience within commercial banking, investment banking, credit institutions, or infrastructure and energy sectors.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, and project finance cash flow forecasting.
  • Deep understanding of credit risk analysis, financing structures, project agreements, collateral packages, and financing protections used in project finance.
  • Formal credit training is highly desirable.
  • English fluency required; Spanish language skills are strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting complex analyses to senior executives and credit committees.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; programming knowledge and Bloomberg experience are considered strong advantages.
