A financial institution is seeking an experienced Senior Vice President to lead its Credit Card and Prepaid Payments Operations function.
This executive will be responsible for overseeing existing programs, strengthening operational processes, managing regulatory and fraud-related controls, and helping guide the future development of consumer payment products.
The position combines business leadership, operations transformation, people management, payment program knowledge, and close collaboration with technology and risk stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead credit card and prepaid program operations across the consumer card lifecycle.
- Oversee key processes involving underwriting, servicing, disputes, fraud, and collections.
- Assess current workflows and implement improvements to operational performance and governance.
- Manage and develop an existing payments operations team.
- Strengthen payment controls in collaboration with Compliance, Fraud, and Risk.
- Work with Technology to define operational requirements and support automation initiatives.
- Manage external payment program relationships, vendors, and relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to the strategy and expansion of credit card and prepaid operations.
Role Requirements- Significant leadership experience within credit card, prepaid, or related consumer payments operations.
- Strong understanding of card programs, issuing structures, BINs, payment networks, and related operational workflows.
- Practical knowledge of consumer payment regulations and controls.
- Experience overseeing fraud-related processes, servicing, disputes, or collections.
- Proven ability to lead teams and improve established operations.
- Experience working with payment partners, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong communication, judgment, problem-solving, and executive leadership skills.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE- Banking or regulated financial-services experience.
- Gaming, sportsbook, or specialized payments exposure.
- Prepaid card program or sponsor-bank partnership experience.
- Payments automation or modernization experience.
