ABOUT THE ROLEA publicly traded financial institution is seeking a Senior Vice President / Financial Reporting Director to lead its SEC and external financial reporting function. This senior-level role reports directly to the CFO, oversees a small team, and serves as a key technical accounting and financial reporting resource across the organization. Las Vegas is preferred, with remote flexibility available in approved states and travel to Las Vegas as needed.
The position offers a $170, 000 $190, 000 base salary plus annual bonus and equity eligibility, with some flexibility for highly qualified candidates. The ideal candidate will bring 8 10+ years of relevant experience, an active CPA, Big 4 public accounting experience, significant SEC reporting experience, and preferably a financial institution or banking accounting background.
This is a hands-on leadership role with ownership of 10-K and 10-Q filings, financial statements, MD&A, disclosures, SOX/ICFR, Workiva/XBRL, technical accounting research, equity compensation reporting, and external audit coordination.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead preparation and filing of 10-K, 10-Q, S-1, and other SEC filings.
- Own financial statements, MD&A, footnotes, and related disclosures.
- Oversee quarterly and annual external financial reporting processes.
- Maintain and strengthen the SOX 404 / ICFR control environment.
- Monitor changes to US GAAP, SEC, PCAOB, and other reporting requirements.
- Research and document complex technical accounting matters.
- Develop and maintain corporate accounting policies.
- Manage equity and equity-compensation reporting.
- Coordinate external audits and interim review requests.
- Oversee Workiva and XBRL reporting processes.
- Support goodwill impairment analyses and acquisition/divestiture accounting.
- Lead process improvements while managing and developing a team of 2+ professionals.
