Susquehanna Printing Company is looking for a Maintenance Electrician to join our team!

The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for a combination of tasks related to ensuring the proper functioning and reliability of equipment and systems critical to press, post-press/mailroom, and related operations.

We provide commercial printing, mailing, and finishing services for newspapers, businesses, and organizations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Our work includes newspapers, tabloids, books, periodicals, and other printed materials.

Our team manages every stage of the production process, including pre-press, scheduling, page layout, offset printing, inserting, binding, direct mail, and quality control. We utilize advanced equipment, including a Goss Universal 70 offset press and a Heidelberg 632 inserter, to produce high-quality printed materials efficiently and reliably. With more than 400 years of combined experience among our pre-press and pressroom staff, we take pride in delivering dependable service, quality results, and cost-effective solutions to meet our customers' needs.

Susquehanna Printing is conveniently located right off the Greenfield exit on Route 30. There is access to countless shops and restaurants within minutes and easy access to major cities in the Central PA area such as Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C.

Maintenance Technician Essential Job Functions (Full Description):

• Safety: Prioritize safety by performing tasks in a safe and efficient manner, addressing safety issues and deficiencies as the top priority.
• Equipment Understanding: Have a comprehensive understanding of production equipment capabilities, including strong troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance abilities. Respond with a high sense of urgency to troubleshoot, diagnose, and rectify breakdowns promptly to minimize equipment downtime.
• Manufacturer Specifications: Maintain production equipment within manufacturer's specifications.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in reading electrical/mechanical diagrams and blueprint drawings.
• Installation Skills: Capable of properly installing specialized equipment, lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets, conduit, wiring, and phones as needed.
• Mechanical Skills: Show strong mechanical skills and the ability to learn machine shop equipment.
• Operation of Tools: Operate power tools and other specialized electrical equipment.
• Communication Skills: Possess good communication skills to work effectively with the Maintenance Manager, maintenance team, and other departments.
• Electrical Troubleshooting: Be highly skilled in electrical troubleshooting and maintenance, with additional competencies to address mechanical issues as needed.
• Initiative and Development: Demonstrate the drive and initiative to develop skills required to reliably and autonomously support a 24/7 operation.
• Self-Motivation: Display self-motivation and vision for continual improvement in the operation.

These functions collectively contribute to the efficient and safe maintenance of production equipment in an industrial setting.

Requirements

What are we looking for?

• High School diploma or equivalency required, Technical School training preferred.
• Industrial maintenance/operator or industrial electrical/mechanical construction experience preferred
• Good communication skills

Machines/Tools/Equipment:

• A Variety of equipment throughout the production department (Pre-Press, Post-press & Packaging Distribution Center) such as Image Setters/Processors, Plate-Makers, Presses, Inserters, Stitcher/Trimmers, etc.
• Proficiency with both power and non-power hand tools (drills, saws, wrenches, etc.).
• Electrical diagnostic tools
