The Manager of Survey, Modeling & Machine Control Systems leads and oversees all surveying, modeling, machine control, and quantity management activities across company projects. This role manages the Surveying Department, supervises field survey personnel, and ensures surveying and machine control operations support safe, efficient, and accurate project execution.
The successful candidate will coordinate surveying resources across multiple projects, oversee the development and maintenance of project models, and ensure machine control systems are effectively implemented, maintained, and optimized throughout the organization. This position is also responsible for project quantity reconciliation and driving continuous improvement in surveying, modeling, and machine control processes.
The Role:
- Lead, manage, and hold all Duininck Texas surveyors accountable.
- Staff and coordinate surveying activities on all Duininck Texas projects.
- Perform various types of surveys, including but not limited to topography, vertical control, horizontal control, and stakeout.
- Construct survey models for all the Duininck Texas projects using industry survey software.
- Ensure survey equipment and machine control systems are properly identified, utilized, maintained, and updated as needed.
- Support the estimating department in pre-bid quantity take-offs and assessment as requested.
- Reconcile job production quantities with project take-offs.
- Identify potential quantity busts and/or opportunities on projects in advance.
- Support Project Managers with quantity info for projects and/or change orders as requested.
Work Environment:
- Spends time indoors in a typical setting and outdoors while surveying construction projects.
- Spends extended periods of time sitting at a computer and drafting surfaces and standing/walking at work sites.
- Performs a variety of physical movements, including lifting objects such as survey/engineering equipment and climbing on equipment.
- Exposure to weather conditions and noise.
- Uses large and fine motor skills, as well as vision and hearing.
- Travel and some weekend work required.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in surveying, modeling, or related construction technology preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with machine control systems are preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of surveying and modeling experience is an asset.
