Survey Crew Chief
Location: Based in Greenville, SC - Travel throughout South Carolina and Northern Georgia
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
A civil engineering and surveying firm is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field work on roadway projects. This role is a great fit for someone who is confident running a crew, comfortable with travel, and enjoys seeing a project through from the field side. Travel weeks run Monday through Friday so you are home every weekend, and a company vehicle and travel expenses are provided.
Survey Crew Chief Responsibilities:
-Lead a field survey crew on roadway and transportation projects
-Plan daily field work, set priorities, and keep the crew on schedule
-Perform topographic, boundary, and control surveys to support roadway design
-Operate and maintain survey equipment, including GPS and robotic total stations
-Review field data for accuracy and completeness before submitting to the office
-Communicate progress, field conditions, and issues with project managers
-Train and guide crew members on equipment, procedures, and safe work practices
-Support occasional construction layout as project needs require
Survey Crew Chief Requirements:
-2 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief
-Background in roadway or transportation surveying preferred
-Experience with Trimble equipment and software strongly preferred
