Overview:
Participates as a member of the OR team, preparing for surgery, setting up surgical instruments and equipment, assisting in surgery and maintaining surgical suites.
Responsibilities:
Shares in OR suite cleaning, preparation, use and maintenance of specialized equipment & supplies used for surgical procedures.
Maintains sterilization techniques and disposal of hazardous waste.
Uses surgical instruments and knowledge of the step-by-step sequences for surgical procedures.
Handles surgical specimens.
Files and copies path and procedure chart reports.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Graduate of a Surgical Technology School or program recognized by the Association of Surgical Technologists preferred.
2 years of experience as a surgical technologist
Knowledge of Orthopaedic, GYN, and General Surgery preferred.
Currently Registered with the New Hampshire Board of Registration for Medical Technicians
