    Before Surgery (Preoperative)
    • Clean and sterilize the operating room and surgical tools.
    • Set up sterile instrument tables and equipment.
    • Perform a surgical hand scrub, then put on sterile gowns and gloves.
    • Help prep and position the patient on the operating table.
      During Surgery (Intraoperative)
      • "Scrub in" to maintain a strict sterile field.
      • Hand tools, suction tips, sutures, and supplies to the surgeon quickly.
      • Anticipate the surgeon's next needs based on the procedure.
      • Count instruments, needles, and sponges with the nurse to ensure nothing is left behind.
        After Surgery (Postoperative)
