    Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

    Responsibilities:
    • Perform as a primary scrub person handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure while applying principles of sterile technique.
    • Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in selecting, assembling, testing, and operating equipment and instruments in accordance with policies and procedures.
    • Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, medical supplies and equipment and assembles, wraps and sterilizes instrument trays. 
    • Monitor biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency of decontamination of instruments and medical equipment. 
    • Assist with maintaining established departmental policies and procedures. 
    Qualifications:

    Job Requirements: 

    • High School diploma or GED
    • Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program 
    • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

    Preferred Job Requirements

    • 1 year of Surgical Tech experience.
