For incumbents grandfathered into Surgical Tech (911005) position prior to 02/12/2017, current certification as a Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). One of the following: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).

One of the following:

• Graduate of a school of Surgical Technology
• 15 or more years’ experience working as a Surgical Tech
• Grandfathered into Surgical Tech (911005) prior to 02/12/2017

Strong communications skills

Record keeping skills sufficient to manage required documentation

Working knowledge of OR instruments, equipment, and procedures

 

Licensure, Registration, Certification:

 

BLS

One of the following:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• For incumbents grandfathered into Surgical Tech (911005) position prior to 02/12/2017, current certification as a Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for perioperative patients in accordance with Infirmary Health’s (IH’s) standards.
