Job Description
The Surgical Technician will have the opportunity to assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures, as well as assist in preparation of surgical services to ensure suite setup is appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
Determines and documents efficacy of equipment. Records reflect accurate description of operations, sterilization, and use of equipment
Familiar with proper assembly, operation, and disassembly of all OR equipment and attends in-service on new equipment
Attends in-service on new equipment, completes competency evaluation successful in operation and maintaining equipment used within the department
In-depth knowledge of principles of sterile technique; General knowledge of anatomy, surgical procedures with emphasis on our specific procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of Orthopedic Surgery
Current Surgical Technologist certification required
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) recognized by American Heart Association required
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum six (6) months experience in an orthopedic surgical area preferred.
