Job Overview

Fairview Range is hiring a Surgical Scheduler for our Surgical Services team in Hibbing, MN.

As the Surgical Scheduler you will schedule both inpatient and outpatient surgeries using surgeon orders, have daily interactions with surgeons and physician offices as well as pre-registering patients. You will be responsible for posting charges, order entry and post-op data entry as well as performs clerical and other duties as assigned.

Schedule: This position will work hours 48-64 per two weeks. The shift length will be 8-hours on the day shift. No Weekends.

• 4 operating rooms
• 17 Same Day Surgery cubicles
• 6 recovery room cubicles
• Average of more than 3000 surgical procedures per year
• Multidisciplinary care team including Physicians, APPs, CRNAs, RNs, Surgical Techs, Instrument Tech/Unit Assistants
• Patient population: pediatric to geriatric

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care.
• Transports patients in a safe and courteous manner.
• Assists in obtaining information from the patient and/or significant other about patient special care needs and reports to RN.
• Identifies and promptly reports changes in the patient's condition.
• Demonstrates organizational skills.
• Computer, Clerical and Informational Management.
• Demonstrates competency in use of the Surgical software system.
• Accurately schedules surgical procedures.
• Logs post procedure surgical case data.
• Accurately prepares daily, monthly, and other requested reports.
• Reviews patient charge accurately.
• Enters charges accurately and post logs.
• Able to use computer systems with accuracy.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from high school
• Experience in medical terminology, health insurance and basic surgical procedures
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) within 90 Days
