Description
A New York City health services network is seeking a Surgical Recovery Coordinator to support organ recovery and preservation procedures in donor hospital operating rooms.
About the Opportunity:
Shift: Day or Nights
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week (every other weekend, and holidays as needed)
Hours: 5am to 5pm or 5pm to 5am
Setting: Field-Based
Responsibilities:
Deploy to donor hospitals to support organ recovery procedures
Prepare sterile instruments, supplies, and operating room equipment
Scrub into procedures and assist surgical teams
Support organ preservation, including preparation of preservation solutions and back-table setup
Package, label, document, and coordinate transportation of recovered organs
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of hospital-based main operating room experience
Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
Experience as a Surgical Technologist, Scrub Tech, or OR Nurse
Strong sterile technique and the ability to scrub independently
Ability to work independently in high-pressure operating room environments
Strong communication, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
Willingness to travel and respond to organ recovery cases
Desired Skills:
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP) credential
Previous organ procurement or organ recovery experience
Experience across multiple surgical specialties
