We are rapidly expanding across Nassau and Suffolk Counties and are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Surgical Physician Assistant to join our growing team.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Surgical Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our dynamic clinical and surgical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in orthopedics, neurosurgery, or a related specialty, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with our physicians in both clinical and surgical settings, including serving as a first assist in spinal procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete initial patient histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations
- Serve as first assist in spinal surgeries, including cervical and lumbar fusions
- Develop, document, and communicate patient care plans; ensure follow-through on all aspects of care
- Perform inpatient rounds and evaluate inpatient and ER consults
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory work, and spinal imaging
- Perform in-office procedures such as trigger-point and joint injections
- Collaborate closely with attending physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
Qualifications:
- NCCPA Board Certification (PA-C) required
- Active New York State Physician Assistant license
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Physician Assistant (spine, orthopedic, or neurosurgery preferred)
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Willingness to travel between Ronkonkoma, Garden City, Huntington, & Jamaica Estates locations
