Description

Surgical Scheduler – Newton, MA

Project till: 03/05/2027

Location: NWH, 2014 Washington St, Green Building, Suite 563, Newton, MA 02462
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Hours: 40 hrs/week | 30-minute unpaid lunch
Duration: 6 months, with potential for temp-to-perm
Parking: Free parking available after one-time registration fee

Must Have: Strong surgical scheduling or surgical coordination experience

Job Summary

The Surgical Scheduler plays an important role in coordinating surgical procedures and supporting daily hospital operations. Responsibilities may include:

  • Surgical scheduling and coordination
  • Scheduling patient appointments
  • Answering phones and gathering screening information
  • Managing and relaying messages
  • Providing routine patient and staff information
  • Coordinating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's Degree in a related field preferred
  • 5–7 years of administrative experience, preferably in healthcare
  • 1–2 years supporting senior-level staff preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong organization, multitasking, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of hospital administration and healthcare regulations
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
