    Responsibilities

    Under the supervison of healthcare leadershoip, the Surgical Coordinator will perform the following duties:

    • Direct, coordinate, and facilitate surgical scheduling activities for all clinic physicians.
    • Apply appropriate administrative, financial, and operational policies and procedures to support continuity of care for surgical patients.
    • Coordinate surgical scheduling processes to ensure efficient patient flow and timely access to care.
    • Serve as a liaison between the department and other surgical and financial areas.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to support effective communication and coordination of surgical services.

    FTE: 1.0

    Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm

    Days: Monday-Friday

    Qualifications

    Education

    Required:High School Diploma or GED

    Preferred: Medical Terminology Course

    Necessary Skills

    Required: Demonstrated knowledge of specialty surgical procedures with associated acuity levels and specialized equipment, ancillary services and staffing needs.

    Experience:

    Required: 1 year of experience scheduling in a healthcare environment.

    Preferred: Experience in electronic surgical scheduling program a plus.

    Licensure/Certifications

    Required: CPC (Certified Procedural Coder) certification required within 12 months of hire or transfer.
