Description Specialization: Surgery General Job Summary: Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) - Colorectal & General Surgery Location: Brandon, FL, Sun City Center, FL, Tampa, FL Schedule: [Full-time | Clinic + OR + Inpatient Coverage Position Type: Surgical APP (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) Join a High-Performing Surgical Team We are seeking a motivated and clinically skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our growing colorectal and general surgery team. This is a dynamic, hands-on role offering a balanced mix of clinic, OR first assist, and inpatient care, where you'll work closely with an experienced surgeon and multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities Perioperative Care & Coordination Assist with surgical scheduling and coordination of care across the perioperative continuum Perform and manage preoperative evaluations and workups, including ordering labs, imaging, and clearances Provide comprehensive patient education on procedures, recovery, and expectations Ensure seamless postoperative follow-up care, monitoring patient recovery and outcomes Operating Room (OR) Support Serve as a first assist during colorectal and general surgery procedures, when qualified Collaborate closely with the surgical team to support efficient and safe operative care Inpatient & Clinical Management Conduct hospital rounds, evaluate patients, and contribute to daily care planning Partner with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans Manage postoperative inpatient care, including wound care, medications, and recovery plans Outpatient & Follow-Up Care Perform comprehensive office visits, including postoperative evaluations and ongoing management of surgical conditions Conduct follow-up phone calls and monitor recovery progress Manage wound assessments, medication adjustments, and patient concerns Care Coordination & Communication Triage patient calls, portal messages, and clinical inquiries with timely and appropriate responses Provide medical guidance, coordinate referrals, and escalate care when needed Clinical Autonomy Prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and initiate treatment plans Practice in accordance with state regulations and established clinical protocols Documentation & Quality Maintain accurate, timely EMR documentation Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support best practices in surgical care Qualifications Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with current licensure Surgical experience preferred (colorectal or general surgery ideal) OR first assist experience or willingness to obtain certification Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and team-oriented mindset Why Join Us?
