What Youll Do
- Assist during surgical procedures including wound cauterization, suturing, and vessel packing
- Position and prepare patients for surgery to ensure optimal access and circulation
- Manage hemostasis and bleeding control during surgeries
- Support the surgical team with suctioning, irrigation, and drainage procedures
- Aid in patient positioning and immobilization on the operating table
- Support on surgical floors with rounding, managing orders, discharges, and consults for General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic patients
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
What You Need
- Valid NY State License
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical first assist experience
- BLS, ACLS, ATLS certifications (current)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:- Experience with EPIC charting system
- Knowledge of hospital protocols and surgical procedures
