    Relocation: Candidate must relocate to Muscle Shoals, AL within 30 days
    The Surgery Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for Surgical Services, overseeing multiple departments and subordinate leaders while ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient clinical operations.
    The role directly oversees Operating Room (OR), Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), Central Sterile Processing, Ambulatory Services, and Endoscopy. The Surgery Manager is responsible for staffing, budgets, performance management, staff development, quality improvement, resources, and collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, hospital leadership, and other departments.
    The position requires strong independent judgment, discretion, adaptability, and the ability to make complex operational and clinical decisions. The Manager may also function as a staff-level RN when needed to support clinical operations.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Oversee daily Surgical Services operations and quality of patient care.
    • Provide strategic direction and establish objectives for Surgical Services.
    • Directly oversee OR, PAT, Central Sterile Processing, Ambulatory Services, and Endoscopy.
    • Manage department budgets, resources, supplies, and equipment.
    • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate nurses, technologists, and other surgical services staff.
    • Manage employee performance, including evaluations, promotions, salary adjustments, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
    • Establish organizational structures aligned with hospital policies and strategic goals.
    • Lead performance improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
    • Facilitate staff development, competency assessments, orientation, and clinical education.
    • Foster a collaborative and professional work environment.
    • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, senior leadership, and other hospital departments.
    • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, confidentiality, and applicable requirements.
    • Provide clinical support as a staff-level RN when necessary.
    • Exercise independent judgment when addressing complex, confidential, and non-routine matters.
    Required Qualifications
    • Current Alabama State Board of Nursing RN License.
    • BLS certification required; BLS must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
    • ACLS/PALS as applicable.
    • Minimum 5 years of work experience demonstrating management skills.
    • 2–3 years of surgery experience.
    • Strong surgical services leadership and operational management experience.
    • Ability to relocate to Muscle Shoals, Alabama within 30 days.
    • Must be willing to work onsite Monday–Friday, day shift.
    • No visa sponsorship available.
    Preferred / Additional Qualifications
    • Experience managing multiple Surgical Services departments.
    • Experience leading nurses, technologists, and subordinate leaders.
    • Experience with performance improvement, quality initiatives, and staff competency programs.
    • Strong collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary hospital leadership.
