Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, pre-op appointments, and post-op follow-ups
• Serve as a liaison between patients, surgeons, surgical facilities, and insurance providers
• Obtain prior authorizations and verify insurance coverage for surgical procedures
• Prepare and manage surgical paperwork, operative reports, and patient medical records
• Assist with administrative duties including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and documenting in EHR systems
• Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative instructions and answer procedure-related questions
• Communicate with hospitals and surgery centers to confirm scheduling and required documentation

Requirements:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
• Prior experience in surgical coordination or a surgical specialty practice strongly preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and insurance authorization processes
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical office software
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented clinical environment
