What You'll Do

• Assist in adult cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repairs/replacements, ascending aortic surgeries, and complex procedures such as MEchanical circulatory support and redo sternotomies.
• Prepare operating rooms and equipment, including the Maquet EVH System.
• Collaborate with a team of cardiac surgeons, intensivists, and support staff.
• Provide surgical first assist support during high-volume cardiac cases.
• Support emergent and scheduled surgeries with flexibility for varied call schedules.
• Document procedures accurately using Epic EMR system.
• Participate in pre- and post-operative patient care in a busy academic setting.

What You Need

• Board certification in relevant specialty; MO license required
• BLS certification; RNFA preferred for NP candidates
• Minimum 2 years of independent adult cardiac surgery OR first assist experience
• Willing to obtain necessary licensing if required
• Ability to manage complex surgical cases and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
