    Surface Engineering Production Operator — West Chicago, IL

    Your mission

    Own the production steps that transform customer‑owned parts into high‑value, coated components. You’ll run high‑vacuum chamber processes, maintain equipment readiness, and ensure every batch meets exacting standards.

    Impact you’ll make

    • Translate customer specifications into disciplined machine operation and in‑process quality checks.
    • Load and unload delicate, precision‑machined parts; protect surfaces at every touchpoint.
    • Operate and vigilantly monitor PVD coating chambers; confirm process conditions through periodic verification.
    • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of coating equipment interiors.
    • De‑fixture processed loads and perform visual inspections to validate results.
    • Support teammates and leaders with additional production tasks as needed.

    Work rhythm and environment

    • Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM; occasional weekend work may occur.
    • Physical demands: Sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours; fine motor skills for careful part handling; read English documentation at sizes down to 8‑point font.

    What equips you for success

    • 3+ years in manufacturing or a related field preferred.
    • Strength in mechanical/electrical fundamentals and troubleshooting is a plus.
    • Hands‑on familiarity with production machinery, tools, and metrology.
    • Clear communicator who performs well when timelines are tight.
