Fellowship Areas
Fellows may be assigned to one of the following functional areas:
- Office of the Chief Financial Officer
- Office of the General Counsel
- Information Technology (IT)
- Office of the Chief Communications Officer
Additional cross-functional project opportunities may be incorporated based on organizational needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Projects and Organizational Support
- Contribute to office and Court-wide initiatives aligned with strategic goals and organizational priorities.
- Assist with planning, implementation, and evaluation of strategic projects and operational improvements.
- Conduct research and analysis to support decision-making and organizational effectiveness.
- Prepare reports, presentations, recommendations, and other deliverables for leadership review.
- Support change management, innovation, and continuous improvement efforts within the assigned functional area.
Functional Area Engagement
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the assigned office and its role within the Court.
- Participate in daily operations, special projects, and business activities to gain practical experience.
- Collaborate with employees across multiple offices to better understand Court processes and priorities.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and organizational collaboration.
Professional Development
- Participate in structured learning, mentoring, networking, and developmental opportunities.
- Engage in regular development discussions with supervisors, senior leaders, and assigned mentors.
- Apply coaching and feedback to strengthen professional, technical, and leadership competencies.
- Build business acumen and a deeper understanding of judicial administration and public service.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Develop productive working relationships across Court offices and functional areas.
- Partner with teams on initiatives that support organizational priorities and enhance overall effectiveness.
- Gain broad exposure to Court operations while contributing to enterprise-wide initiatives.

The fellowship is intended to:
- Develop Court-wide insight and functional expertise.
- Build organizational capability through experiential, project-based learning.
- Provide exposure to strategic initiatives and impactful business objectives.
- Strengthen leadership competencies, problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
- Create a pipeline of talent prepared to address future organizational needs.
- Increase awareness of careers in the judicial branch.
Eligibility and Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
Preferred
Relevant academic or professional experience related to the assigned fellowship area.
Interest in public service, judicial administration, government, law, communications, finance, technology, or organizational operations.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
Experience participating in projects, research, process improvement, or team-based initiatives.
Fellowship Term
- Initial appointment of one year (12 months).
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available.
- Fellows may be considered for a one-year extension based on organizational need, performance, developmental objectives, and availability of fellowship opportunities.
- Maximum fellowship duration is two years.
