Location: Juliette, GA 31046
Duration: 05 Months
Pay Range: $30.00 - $32.00 on W2

A Distribution Support Specialist plays a key role in providing administrative and operational support to distribution teams within organizations, typically in industries such as utilities, logistics, or manufacturing. They assist in various tasks related to inventory management, order processing, customer service, and data analysis to ensure the smooth operation of distribution processes.
Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of products or materials for distribution.
  • Order Processing: Receive and process customer orders, ensuring accuracy in product selection, quantities, and delivery schedules.
  • Shipment Coordination: Coordinate the preparation and scheduling of shipments with logistics and transportation teams. Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation for outgoing orders.
  • Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues related to orders, deliveries, or product inquiries. Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Billing: Use spreadsheets and billing software to report customer chargers for in lab services, repairs, and vendor service fees.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to distribution processes, such as order fulfillment rates, delivery times, and inventory turnover. Generate reports and provide insights for process improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for streamlining distribution processes, reducing costs, and improving efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality checks on products or materials before shipment to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inventory, orders, shipments, and customer interactions. Ensure compliance with recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
  • Vendor Relations: Communicate with suppliers and vendors to track order status, resolve issues, and coordinate deliveries. Negotiate terms and agreements as needed.
  • Training: Train and onboard new distribution team members on standard operating procedures, software systems, and customer service best practices.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when handling materials or products and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Emergency Response: Assist in responding to distribution related emergencies, such as product recalls or unexpected delays, to mitigate disruptions and ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Additional coursework in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration is advantageous.
Experience:
  • Previous experience in distribution, logistics, or customer service roles is preferred but not always required, depending on the complexity of the role.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, colleagues, and suppliers effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage orders, inventory, and data efficiently.
  • Analytical Skills: Basic data analysis skills to extract insights from distribution data and contribute to process improvement efforts.
  • Customer Focus: A customer-centric mindset with a commitment to providing high-quality service and resolving customer issues.
  • Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with computer software for order processing, inventory management, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is often required.
  • Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail when processing orders, managing inventory, and maintaining records.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues in distribution processes and recommend solutions.
