Job Responsibilities
Prepares shopping carts, purchase orders, and good receipts using SCEIS System. Secures parts/supplies needed by shop mechanics to repair/maintain equipment. Compiles and maintains records of items received and issued. Ensures compliance with SCDOT specifications. Serves as liaison with vendors to ensure rapid and accurate supply transactions. Confers with mechanics to ensure the correct parts/supplies are ordered. Initiates job sheets for repairs to equipment using Highway Maintenance Management System Equipment Service Management Module. Confirms accuracy on all paperwork, ensuring parts/supplies are charged to proper equipment. Checks mileage for assurance that the preventive maintenance program stays in check with the mileage program. Maintains detailed inventory records of supplies and equipment on hand. Keeps accurate records of all materials and equipment received, inspects shipments and reconciles packing slips or manifests with actual items. Maintains records of acquisition, transfer and disposal of all equipment and vehicles for the county. Performs periodic inventories according to SCDOT standards and prepares inventory reports. Performs administrative duties, posting, closing and printing of mechanics time, and entering data into Highway Maintenance Management System. Works during inclement weather conditions and after hour emergencies. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and six (6) months of work experience directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
The physical demands for the essential functions of this position include sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods and working on a computer. This position requires working in an office environment, warehouse environment, and/or outside in all weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies.
