Part of the Supply and Demand Planning Team, responsible for ensuring availability of raw materials and finished goods to support manufacturing and distribution operations.
Balance supply and demand, optimize inventory levels, and collaborate cross-functionally to support business continuity, financial objectives, and company growth.
Apply extensive knowledge of complex blood and plasma processing, manufacturing requirements, market needs, regulatory requirements, and supply chain constraints.
Analyze potential supply disruptions and develop contingency plans and alternative strategies to protect production and customer delivery.
Support global supply planning by balancing production requirements with manufacturing capacity across global operations.
Ensure appropriate processes, controls, reporting, and systems are in place to respond to changing demand while optimizing revenue, production throughput, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
Develop and maintain Make-to-Stock (MTS) and Make-to-Order (MTO) supply plans aligned with forecasted demand.
Determine appropriate product mix, SKU sizes, and concentrations while minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence.
Manage complex planning variables including:
Manufacturing lead times
Production constraints
Work-in-process (WIP) inventory
Intercompany transfers
Regulatory and quality requirements
Lot sizes
Finished goods inventory and days on hand
Dynamic sales forecasts
Ensure raw materials and components are available to support production schedules.
Lead and influence cross-functional partners to execute supply plans supporting financial and delivery objectives.
Develop and execute capacity plans for designated manufacturing areas and products.
Evaluate planned and unplanned downtime, project implementation, manufacturing constraints, and production opportunities.
Ensure production throughput is sufficient to meet customer delivery and financial objectives.
Identify and resolve issues that may interrupt production flow or market supply.
Escalate systemic supply or production issues requiring resources beyond the Supply Planning function.
Analyze sales forecasts and demand requirements to identify production and supply bottlenecks.
Recommend and implement strategies to resolve supply constraints and capacity overloads.
Communicate capacity issues and mitigation strategies to manufacturing leadership and senior management.
Direct Production Planners to support timely execution of forecasted demand and customer shipments.
Develop alternative strategies when deviations from supply or demand plans occur.
Maintain a detailed three-month batch allocation forecast to support market demand.
Monitor and communicate changes in batch allocation and supply plans throughout the organization.
Partner with Manufacturing and Product Leads to balance manufacturing constraints against production requirements.
Prepare long-term production and supply plans for senior leadership across Manufacturing, Commercial, Demand Planning, and Global Supply Planning.
Coordinate with Purchasing, Commercial, Finance/Controlling, Quality, and Regulatory teams regarding:
Product name changes
New product launches
New component implementation
Changes in demand
Lead and/or participate on product launch teams and cross-functional project teams.
Identify supply constraints and proactively develop mitigation plans to prevent disruptions.
Support new product and market launches by identifying supply requirements and initiating change management activities.
Create or amend Bills of Material (BOMs) for new product lines, validation batches, and manufacturing process changes.
Serve as a subject matter resource for SAP planning and inventory management functions.
Participate in SAP functionality implementation and enhancement projects.
Represent Supply Chain on project teams, committees, and task forces.
Generate, analyze, and present supply planning KPIs and reports to leadership.
Develop Supply Planning training materials and provide training to applicable teams.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities and independently implement process improvements.
Collaborate with global planning organizations to maximize on-time delivery.
Perform detailed supply analysis and scenario planning, including evaluating potential impacts to other product lines.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Lead cross-functional teams and participate on cross-company initiatives as needed.
Work in a highly regulated cGMP environment.
Maintain strong knowledge of market, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.
Interact regularly with Production personnel, Supervisors, Managers, Directors, Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Material Management, Purchasing, Regulatory, Validation, Quality Operations, PMO, Finance, and IT, building consensus across diverse teams and influencing stakeholders to achieve supply chain and business objectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong Production and Supply Planning experience.
Strong understanding of manufacturing constraints, inventory management, regulatory requirements, and cGMPs.
Advanced analytical and strategic-thinking skills.
Ability to evaluate complex and changing variables and develop alternative strategies.

Ability to perform detailed data analysis and multiple scenario planning with minimal guidance.

Strong knowledge of SAP ERP, particularly planning and inventory management functions.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI and/or Tableau is highly preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Science, Supply Chain, or a related field required.
Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in Production Planning, Supply Planning, or a related manufacturing/planning environment.
Pharmaceutical, biological, blood/plasma, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
APICS or similar supply chain/planning certification preferred.
Manager Priorities
Strong Excel experience is required.
Strong SAP experience is required.
Candidates without substantial Excel and SAP experience will not be considered.
Candidates should expect detailed interview questions regarding their SAP and Excel experience.
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting tools is highly desirable.
Ideal candidates will have experience working in a complex, regulated manufacturing environment, preferably pharmaceutical or biological manufacturing.
Occupational Requirements
Work is primarily performed in an office environment.
May occasionally enter BioRisk areas with potential exposure to biological fluids and infectious organisms.
Personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, and gloves, may be required.
Frequently sits for approximately 6–8 hours per day.
Requires repetitive hand and finger movements associated with computer and office work.
Occasionally requires walking, standing, bending, and twisting.
May occasionally lift or carry objects up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to clearly communicate information verbally and in writing and work with diverse groups to establish consensus.
