The Supply Chain Supervisor is a working Supervisor position responsible for the purchasing and management of warehouse inventory and supporting the five utilities within the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority. Lead and develop warehouse personnel while managing daily schedules, enforcing compliance, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. This position will report to the Purchasing, Fleet and Supply Chain Manager.

NOTE: There are also secondary functions that the employee will be required to perform.

  • Ensures warehouse inventory is well-managed; re-order and max thresholds are reviewed regularly, and replenishments happen timely to avoid stock-outs.
  • Leverages available data to determine good inventory quote/buy decisions.
  • Maintain good relations with vendors, distributors, etc. Stay attune to market trends, etc. communicate with Engineering to ensure general market condition(s) awareness.
  • Reviews requisitions to ensure buy recommendations are best value in consideration of price and lead-time.
  • Facilitates problem resolution with vendor/suppliers as needed.
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures for department.

  • Performs special assignments and other related work, as required.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or other related area of study. Three (3) years of procurement experience and/or five (5) years of progressive experience managing inventory in a large-scale warehouse operation. Prior experience supervising staff is required. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office is essential. Valid State of Florida Drivers License is Required.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, policies, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and calculate figures, such as discounts, interest, and percentages; possesses the ability to accurately count money.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to use and understand all the computer systems/programs that are required for this position, including possessing knowledge of applicable systems, as well as Microsoft Office products.

HEALTH INSURANCE: Effective for employees and dependents on the first day of the month following completion of 30 days continuous service. FPUA pays most of employee premium and 71% of the dependent premium.

DENTAL INSURANCE - Becomes effective for employees and dependents on the first day of the month following completion of 30 days continuous service. FPUA pays 100% of employee premium and 60% of the dependent premium.

VISION - Becomes effective for employees and dependents on the first day of the month following completion of 30 days continuous service. FPUA pays 100% of employee premium eye care coverage for employees and a portion for their family members, including eye exams, glasses, contact lenses, etc.

LIFE INSURANCE - TERM (EMPLOYEES ONLY) - Life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment policy equal to 1x employees annual salary. Employees may also purchase, on a voluntary basis, additional life insurance through payroll deduction in $10,000 increments up to $100,000.

LONG TERM DISABILITY - Employees out for more than 90 days due to a disabling injury or illness will receive 60% of wage, up to $4,500 per month.
