We're seeking highly motivated individuals who are looking for a challenging but rewarding opportunity in supporting US Navy Ships in the Fleet as a Government Contractor. The Subcontract Management group is looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to oversee some of our subcontracts to ensure we effectively deliver major equipment to the Ship.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Safety Leadership:

  • Actively participate in safety initiatives and lead by example.
  • Influence and motivate the team to prioritize safety, fostering a positive safety culture.

Project Execution

  • Developing ability to draft, evaluate, negotiate and execute complex procurement.
  • Conduct market research and review material / services specifications to develop bidders list.
  • Develop RFP / RFQ package including the solicitation of appropriate contract / PO type and

Terms and Conditions.

  • Evaluate bids and conduct source selection (collaborate with other departments).
  • Conduct negotiation of price as well as Terms and Conditions if necessary.

Training and Development:

  • Be a continuous and active learner.
  • Work to enhance current skills and take initiative to prepare yourself for future roles and career growth.

Team Collaboration and Communication:

  • Assist and participate in cross departmental communications and information sharing to support organizational alignment.
  • Create strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Monitor and assess supplier performance and initiates corrective action when supplier performance does not meet contractual obligations or company expectations.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of existing department strategies and make recommendations for improvement as needed.

  • 4 - 7 years experience in related procurement field performing purchasing support, or minimum of B/S or B/A Degree in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain preferred OR 3 - 6 years experience in related procurement field performing purchasing support, or minimum of B/S or B/A Degree in Business, Finance or Supply Chain preferred.
  • Works independently with little supervision.

Qualifications

  • Ability to develop a command of complex contract terms in a short amount of time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical decisions/strategies into business terms and implications.
  • Ability to produce clear documentation geared to varied audiences.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment.
  • Solid project management and organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Positive and energetic with strong cross-functional team experience.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude and financial acumen, including the ability to discuss and monitor associated budgets and expenditures.
  • An excellent sense of humor and a high tolerance for uncertainty in the midst of shifting priorities.
