Job Title: Supply Chain Planning & o9 Functional Lead
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Duration: 4 Months
Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Work Type: Hybrid (50%)
Role Overview
We are looking for a Manager to serve as the planning workstream lead and who has o9 functional subject matter expert on a data lineage and process optimization engagement for a consumer electronics client. Reporting to the engagement Senior Manager, this role will own the analysis, redesign, and integration specifications for planning data that flows into, through, and out of the client's o9 environment.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on functional experience with o9 (e.g., demand planning, supply planning, S&OP/IBP, or inventory planning), including a working understanding of o9 planning hierarchies, measures, data ingestion and egress, and how planner workflows are configured on the platform. They should pair that platform depth with solid consumer electronics planning experience and be comfortable leading working sessions with planners, writing detailed functional specifications, and guiding a junior team member through day-to-day delivery.
Key Responsibilities
o9 Functional Leadership
Serve as the engagement's o9 functional subject matter expert, advising the Senior Manager and client stakeholders on how planning processes are, and could be, supported in o9.
Document how in-scope data elements are ingested into o9, how they are represented in planning hierarchies and measures, how they are transformed by planning logic, and how outputs are published to downstream systems and users.
Assess the feasibility of redesigned processes against the client's current o9 configuration and identify where changes to configuration, workflows, or data feeds would be required.
Prepare clear, specific questions for the client and vendor o9 platform teams, facilitate the resulting working sessions, and translate their answers into process and specification decisions.
Data Lineage and Decision Mapping (Planning Domain)
Lead lineage mapping for planning data elements such as demand forecasts, forecast overrides, supply plans, allocations, and inventory targets, from source through o9 to the points where they are consumed.
Identify the planning decisions each element informs and the planners and leaders who make those decisions.
Draft data quality requirements (accuracy, completeness, timeliness, consistency, validity) for planning data elements and review them with client business owners for sign-off.
Manual Touchpoint Analysis and Process Redesign
Identify manual work around the planning cycle, including offline spreadsheet adjustments, manual uploads to and extracts from o9, re-keying between o9 and Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM, and email-based handoffs with partners.
Quantify the effort, risk, and latency of each manual touchpoint and recommend priorities for elimination based on business impact.
Design future-state planning process flows that remove manual work, use native o9 capabilities where appropriate, and clarify ownership at each step.
Integration Specifications
Author functional specifications for integrations into and out of o9, including connections with Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM, Oracle Transportation Management (OTM), and third parties such as contract manufacturers, suppliers, and channel partners.
Define data mappings, transformation rules, load frequency and timing relative to the planning cycle, error handling, and validation logic for each integration.
Review integration specifications drafted by the Consultant for accuracy and completeness before they go to the Senior Manager for final review.
Support the development team through build and testing by answering functional questions, contributing to test scenarios, and validating results in system and user acceptance testing.
Adoption Support
Develop process documentation, training materials, and job aids for redesigned planning processes and o9-related changes.
Support planner readiness, training delivery, and cutover activities for the planning workstream.
Track workstream-level adoption and performance metrics (e.g., manual touchpoints removed, planning data quality scores, planning cycle time) and raise risks to the Senior Manager.
Workstream and Client Leadership
Manage the planning workstream plan, priorities, and deliverables, and contribute to engagement status reporting and executive readouts.
Provide day-to-day direction, work review, and coaching to the Consultant, and give input to their performance feedback.
Build working relationships with client demand, supply, and inventory planning teams and with the o9 platform team
