    Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Supply Chain Optimization Analyst to join our Integrated Business Planning organization supporting Structural Panels - Plywood and OSB. Our network linear programming (LP) optimization models are core to how we operate and how we fulfill customer demand each week. In this role, you will own the weekly modeling cycle: preparing data, running the models, resolving issues, and delivering outputs that planners use to make decisions.

This is an operational role with a recurring weekly cadence. You will partner primarily with supply planners and demand planners, and you will report directly to the Director of Production Planning.

You will also manage a suite of standardized reporting that helps business leaders understand business operations and market dynamics.

This is an entry-level opportunity and a strong introduction to the business at a fundamental level - how our network operates, what drives our results, and how decisions get made. It also provides regular exposure to business leaders. Deep manufacturing, supply chain, or optimization expertise is not expected on day one; curiosity and a willingness to learn are essential.

    Our Team

Georgia-Pacific''s building product business has consistently been among the nation''s top suppliers of building products to building materials dealers and large warehouse retailers. Our Building Products division includes Plywood, Lumber, OSB/Composite Panels, and Gypsum. To learn more, visit https://www.buildgp.com/. Georgia-Pacific employees strive for safety and health excellence while achieving an injury free workplace

    What You Will Do

    • Execute the weekly network LP modeling cycle, delivering reliable results on a consistent operational schedule.
    • Prepare and assemble model input data sets from planning and operational sources.
    • Review model inputs and outputs for reasonableness and call out potential input issues with data owners.
    • Run models and diagnose infeasibilities, working with planners to identify and resolve root causes.
    • Prepare reporting on model outputs so supply and demand planners can act on the results.
    • Tune models by adjusting parameters and constraints to reflect current business conditions.
    • Identify and implement improvements to the modeling process - reducing manual steps and improving reliability and turnaround time.

    Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

    • Strong data analysis skills, including Excel, PowerBI, python, or other similar tools.
    • Comfort working with large data sets and a high attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems in a structured way, especially when results don't look right.
    • Ability to consistently meet recurring deadlines.
    • Ability to communicate clearly with planners and business leaders.
    • Curiosity about how a business operates and what drives it.
    • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Business, or related field.

    What Will Put You Ahead

    • Internship or co-op experience in supply chain, planning, analytics, or related function.
    • Coursework or exposure to linear programming or optimization concepts.
    • Basic Python knowledge, particularly pandas.
    • Experience with SQL.
    • Experience with Power BI.
    • Experience using AI tools to accelerate your work.
    • Experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain.
