    Description

    Job Title: Supply Chain Manager
    Location: North Kingstown, Rhode Island
    Type: Direct Hire
    Compensation:
    Work Model: Onsite – onsite

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the shipyard's purchasing, planning/scheduling, and material control functions.
    • Align procurement, scheduling, inventory, and logistics with contracts, budgets, and build schedules.
    • Set processes, build team capability, and report on performance to keep construction on time and on budget.
    • Set priorities and performance targets for purchasing, planning/scheduling, and material control teams.
    • Link engineering releases, BOMs, work packages, procurement, receiving, warehousing, and kitting to production need dates.
    • Manage requisitions, RFQs, bid evaluations, POs, approvals, expediting, and procurement records.
    • Handle supplier sourcing, qualification, negotiation, and performance/corrective actions.
    • Coordinate schedules and work packages; resolve delays and bottlenecks.
    • Oversee receiving, inspection, warehousing, inventory control, kitting, staging, shipping, and surplus disposition.
    • Maintain material traceability via audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation.
    • Issue weekly/monthly reports on procurement, schedule health, inventory, and supplier performance.
    • Support invoice matching, commitment tracking, and forecasting with Finance.
    • Identify cost, waste, and material-flow improvements without compromising safety or quality.
    • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain accurate procurement, planning, and material control records.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, operations, or related field, or equivalent experience.
    • 7+ years in purchasing, planning, material control, or supply chain in shipbuilding, marine construction, heavy manufacturing, defense, or similar.
    • 3+ years leading multidisciplinary teams.
    • Experience with schedules, budgets, BOMs, POs, supplier negotiations, inventory control, and reporting.
    • Advanced Excel; working knowledge of MS Project and enterprise planning systems.
    • Able to work in office, warehouse, fabrication, waterfront, and vessel environments.
    • Correctable vision to read documents, drawings, labels, and safety symbols.
    • Able to work at project-deadline pace and respond to urgent issues.
