    Description

    Job Summary:

    Manages daily operations for the organization's Material’s Management functions:

     

    • Ability to manage department heads and employees to meet assigned workload and meet work
      schedule.
    • Effectively manages employee issues within HR, QA, CS, Purchasing, and Safety.
    • Effectively manage work to meet Sales, Production schedules, CS needs, purchasing limitations,
      and Employee needs.
    • Control expenses and oversee the use of labor, equipment, and facilities.
    • Collaborates with the plant manager on Internal and External Audits and assists in the direction
      of the audit team to ensure compliance for NWF and an overall successful audit completion.
    • Assists in the planning, control, and direct the activities of the plant, ensuring that the most
      effective and efficient means to the end are managed for the overall well-being of the plant.
    • Prepares, reviews or audits forms, records, and logs as needed. Maintain such as required.
    • Performance and improvement of physical inventories.
    • Problem solving/resolution and related strategies.
    • Implements changes meant to improve efficiency and reduce costs associated with the materials management
      function.
    • Collaborates with production to maintain excellent customer service levels along with successfully and
      efficiently meeting manufacturing goals.
    • Able to perform detailed analysis and professional reporting which will be utilized by senior management.
    • Able to identify Continuous Improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Essential Functions:

    • Ability to manage department heads and employees to meet assigned workload and meet work schedule.
    • Works together with Manager of Human Resources to appropriately staff departments, and train and develop
      associates.
    • Effectively manage work to meet needs of the business to maximize profitability with Sales, Inventory
      Management, and Production schedules.
    • Control expenses and oversee the use of labor, equipment, and facilities.
    • Works together with the plant manager on Internal and External Audits and assist in the direction of the audit
      team to ensure compliance for NWF to ensure a successful audit completion.
    • Assists in the planning, control, and direct the activities of the plant, ensuring that the most effective and
      efficient means to the end are managed for the overall well-being of the plant.
    • Able to develop effective plans which support business changes and growth.
    • Prepares, reviews or audits forms, records, and logs as needed. Maintain such as required.
    • Perform other duties or special projects as needed.

     

    Qualifications:

    • BS Degree in Logistics, Operations or Scientific Field Preferred or equivalent Education, Experience and Training.
    • 6-8 years of Plant Logistics and Operations Experience coupled with multi-functional responsibility for 3-4 years. (Purchasing, Shipping/Receiving, Customer Service)
    • Ability to interface with multi levels within a Plant environment and manage multiple functions within the plant.
    • Working knowledge of Inventories and computerized load move data.
    • People skills to manage complex departments and get the work done on time using experience and competencies.
    • Excellent Analytical thinking skills. Project management skills. Planning skills
    • Ability to foster teamwork
    • Strong Leadership and Interpersonal Skill
    • Excellent decision-making skills
    • Must be computer literate with Microsoft Office and AS400 systems preferred

     

    Work Environment: 

    • General office environment setting and warehouse/production environment.

    • While performing the day to day tasks of this job the employee may sit or stand for long periods of time while using hands and arms to possibly handle and operate objects. Occasionally the employee will need to kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb. The employee will be regularly required to talk and listen to others. There is occasional to frequent lifting involved with objects weighing up to 60 pounds physical demands described here.
