    Description

Join Amazon"s Extra Large Supply Chain organization built to manage every stage of the fulfillment process- inbound, capacity, linehaul, yard, and delivery - under a single leader. This is a rare chance to see and shape a complex, worldwide supply chain network that moves unique, large-format products with special handling requirements all the way to millions of customers.

As a Supply Chain Manager on our End-to-End team, you will own problems at the intersection of modeling and analytics and hands-on stakeholder engagement. You"ll build the models that drive network decisions, then take them directly to the subject-matter experts who run transportation, fulfillment, delivery, and engineering - translating analysis into operational change in real time. This role is for someone who wants both: the quantitative depth of network planning and the influence of partnering with the people who move the freight.

You"ll support inventory capacity and transportation management across our Fulfillment and Sortation Network - managing trailer timeliness, linehaul scheduling, and transportation execution. Scope will flex with the needs of the network and your strengths, but you can expect ownership of the metrics and programs that keep the network running efficiently.

Because we operation end-to-end from fulfillment through delivery, cross functional work is the daily default. You"ll partner across Operations, Transportation, Finance, Product, and Engineering, and you"ll be close enough to the operation to solve problems that have immediate, visible impact on our network and our customers.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Build and own analytical models that drive transportation decisions across the Fulfillment and Sortation Network
    • Translate analysis into operational change by partnering directly with transportation, fulfillment, delivery, and engineering subject-matter experts. This means you will go into facilities, see the package flow, understand the operation, and help drive the business with tactical and strategic support
    • Manage trailer timeliness, linehaul scheduling, and transportation execution against network metrics and glidepaths
    • Own capacity and transportation programs that keep the network running efficiently, adjusting scope as network priorities shift
    • Identify operational inefficiencies and drive automation and scalable systems to resolve them
    • Partner cross-functionally across Operations, Transportation, Finance, Product, and Engineering to solve problems in real time
    • Communicate findings, trade-offs, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership to drive aligned decisions. This includes analytical results in Business Reviews, documents with decision gates, and ad-hoc support to fix critical operational challenges.

    A day in the life

You start the morning in your models, monitoring overnight trailer timeliness and linehaul performance, updating an AI tool to monitor a regional issue. You then present your findings and recommendation in a business review to 7 senior leaders-and walk out with a decision made and a change live that same day. The afternoon turns strategic and cross-functional: you learn the network through its experts-a transportation SME on scheduling constraints, an engineer on yard design constraints, Finance on cost trade-offs. No two days match. Your decisions directly impact customers, ensuring they receive their products on-time and satisfied.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
