Supply Chain Manager – Aerospace & Defense
Location: Coxsackie, NY
Salary: $109,000–$150,000/year
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead and align the comprehensive supply chain function for an aerospace and defense manufacturing operation. This role will oversee strategic and tactical supply chain planning and execution from backlog order entry through customer delivery with a strong focus on quality, delivery, cost, supplier performance and customer satisfaction.
This facility manufactures large, complex, contoured structural components and assemblies for aerospace and military applications. Manufacturing capabilities include stretch-forming, thermal-forming, chemical processing, precision fabrication, machining, finishing and component integration.
Responsibilities:
- Lead supply chain strategy, planning, execution and continuous improvement across the facility.
- Develop supplier strategies and lead supplier selection, development, evaluation and performance management.
- Support commodity strategies, contract negotiations, NDAs, Terms & Conditions and long-term agreements.
- Manage procurement of materials and services while optimizing total cost, quality and delivery.
- Serve as a key member of the S&OP process, providing schedule updates, risk assessments, mitigation plans and action plans.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to resolve shortages, delayed shipments, production priorities, overtime requirements and other supply chain issues.
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics and material flow.
- Ensure ITAR compliance and appropriate controls for supplier and customer communications.
- Establish cost, quality and timing targets for new component launches and drive corrective actions to meet objectives.
- Lead, develop, train and evaluate the supply chain team, including succession planning and talent development.
- Apply Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to supply chain processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of supply chain or related experience, including significant leadership experience.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience highly preferred.
- 3+ years of ERP experience and S&OP experience.
- Strong knowledge of materials, inventory, production control, procurement and supplier management.
- Demonstrated cross-functional leadership experience involving Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, Customer Service or Operations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and database/query capabilities.
- Proven ability to build teams, develop talent and drive organizational performance.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
