o Provides Logistics support across major operations company-wide (Perishables Purchasing)

o Contributes to development of the organization's overall supply and logistics strategy.

o Supports various launch activities by performing services including:

Attends and participates in regional, national and inter-team meetings

Maintaining OneNote updates (SOP's)

Forecasting - Logistics

o Identifies, evaluates and capitalizes on opportunities to reduce costs by improving buying patterns and supply channels through collaboration with purchasing

o Accurately manages email flow, maintains good records of communications and provides documentation as required to support inquires and help with issue resolution

o Compiles data, ensures accuracy and performs in-depth analysis as needed

o Analyzes and interprets data results and communicates findings to the team

o Communicates all relevant information and keeps everyone on the same page at all times; fosters collaboration with the group to lower cost of goods to WFM

o Assists with the development of new reporting tools to be used by buying teams (global and regional, to support purchasing operational needs and executive decision-making)

o Prepares materials and supports buyer communication as needed

o Monitors the functional activity processes and outcomes; recommends areas for continuous improvement

o With oversight, performs the truck forecasting tasks, particularly for holiday planning

o Assists with managing transportation carriers

o Supports team leadership by communicating truck planning issues, interpreting weekly reports and resolving arrival conflicts

o Communicates, represents, and upholds WFM's core values and business philosophy to Team Members and vendor/supply/carrier partners

o Provides data and works as liaison for WFM Purchasing team

o Monitors the trucking and delivery schedules to proactively identify potential issues and conflicts for all regions

o Works with trucking, delivery, storage, and other stakeholders to resolve issues.

o Reviews periodic reports for patterns, trends, and systemic issues; communicating improvement recommendations to Senior Team Leader

o Drives improvement in key performance metrics, such as order fill rate, on-time delivery, inventory turns, service levels at shelf, returns, and inventory levels versus budget.

o Tracks and reports on key metrics on a regular basis.

o Responsible for daily tracking of load status while in transit, understanding and documenting dwell time at pick up and delivery locations.

o Ensures optimal use of processes and policies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the Transportation Management System (TMS)

o Maintains complete and accurate records of all transactions and projections.

o Assist with planning and execution of Transportation Procurement RFPs

o Skills: Advanced knowledge of inventory management, carrier relations, ordering and disposition processes and standards

o Advanced proficiency with standard ordering, delivery, trucking and transportation practices and procedures.

o Excellent mathematical skills

o Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

o Strong desire to enable others to achieve success

o Comfortable with ongoing shifts in demands and priorities

o Clarifies and handles multiple concurrent and diverse activities

o Excellent client service skills

o Conveys and or consults on issues of moderate to significant complexity

o Possesses deep understanding of the WFM organizations structure, hierarchy and approval levels

o Understands and influences the types and timing of various departmental deadlines and events

o Understands how Logistics decision and recommendations may impact third-party business and operations

Required Education/Experience: BA/BS degree and 2-4 years relevant experience OR equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience
