Position Summary

Steel & Spark is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and results-driven Supply Chain & Inventory Manager to oversee the end-to-end flow of materials, inventory, and supplier relationships. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of materials, maintaining optimal inventory levels, improving operational efficiency, and supporting production and customer fulfillment through effective supply chain management.

The ideal candidate has strong inventory management experience, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven ability to optimize supply chain processes in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Supply Chain Management

Develop and execute supply chain strategies that support company growth and operational objectives.
Source, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules with vendors.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues affecting quality or delivery.
Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to ensure efficient material flow.
Inventory Management

Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
Establish and monitor minimum and maximum inventory levels to prevent shortages and excess stock.
Analyze inventory trends, turnover rates, and forecasting data to improve inventory accuracy.
Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Optimize warehouse organization and inventory storage practices.
Purchasing & Procurement

Create and manage purchase orders based on production schedules and inventory requirements.
Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging, and operational supplies.
Track purchase orders from placement through receipt.
Collaborate with finance to reconcile invoices and manage purchasing budgets.
Operations Support

Work closely with production, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
Develop inventory forecasts based on sales trends and production demand.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and service levels.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain operations.
Reporting & Compliance

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including inventory accuracy, fill rates, supplier performance, and inventory turnover.
Prepare regular reports for leadership on inventory status, purchasing activities, and supply chain performance.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and procurement procedures.
Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
3–7 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, inventory management, or operations.
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or steel-related industries is preferred.
Strong knowledge of inventory control systems and ERP software.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory reporting.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and vendor negotiation abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
Understanding of demand planning and forecasting.
APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus
