Our client, a logistics and distribution company, is seeking a Supply Chain Analyst to support inventory planning, vendor coordination, and demand forecasting for its Austin distribution operations. This is a contract position suited for someone who can quickly assess existing processes and identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve delivery timelines.
The role involves close collaboration with procurement, warehouse operations, and transportation teams to ensure product availability while minimizing excess inventory. The analyst will work with existing ERP and inventory management systems to track key performance metrics and flag potential disruptions before they affect fulfillment.
This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is expected to work onsite several days per week at the Austin facility, with remote work available for data analysis and reporting tasks.
Responsibilities
- Monitor inventory levels and generate replenishment recommendations
- Analyze demand forecasts against historical sales and seasonal trends
- Coordinate with vendors on lead times, order status, and delivery schedules
- Track key supply chain metrics including fill rate, turnover, and on-time delivery
- Identify bottlenecks in the supply chain and propose corrective actions
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports for operations leadership
- Support cost analysis for freight, warehousing, and procurement decisions
- Assist with new vendor onboarding and contract review
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or related field
- 5 or more years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or procurement analysis
- Proficiency in Excel including pivot tables and advanced formulas
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite
- Strong analytical skills with attention to data accuracy
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to cross functional teams
- Experience with demand forecasting tools or methods
- Familiarity with transportation and warehouse management systems preferred
