Description

We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to manage and improve supplier quality performance and ensure suppliers consistently deliver defect-free products that meet quality, engineering, regulatory, and customer requirements.

The Supplier Quality Engineer will lead supplier evaluation, corrective actions, quality improvement initiatives, and supplier performance management. This role will partner closely with suppliers and internal engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve issues, improve process capability, support new product introduction (NPI), and drive continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities

Participate in supplier evaluation, qualification, selection, and development activities. 
Lead the Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) process, including containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and verification of effectiveness. 
Work directly with suppliers to ensure products meet defined quality, engineering, dimensional, and performance requirements. 
Ensure suppliers effectively utilize quality tools and problem-solving methodologies. 
Support supplier quality activities for new product introduction (NPI) and existing products. 
Determine and verify that supplier requirements are met for new or modified products/processes. 
Monitor and measure supplier quality performance against established metrics and targets. 
Drive supplier improvement plans to reduce defects, improve process capability, and increase overall supplier performance. 
Facilitate continuous improvement and defect-reduction initiatives with suppliers. 
Support supplier audits, certifications, evaluations, and ongoing performance reviews. 
Apply statistical methods and data analysis to evaluate supplier processes and quality performance. 
Use systematic problem-solving methodologies to identify assignable and systemic root causes and prevent recurrence. 
Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities and technical quality planning. 
Apply dimensional metrology and measurement principles to ensure reliable inspection and conformity assessment. 
Identify, assess, and manage supplier-related quality risks and project issues. 
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and supplier teams to ensure timely project launches and sustained product quality. 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical/scientific discipline, or equivalent education and experience. 
Intermediate-level relevant professional experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or a related field. 
Experience with supplier quality management, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. 
Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as 8D, RCA, CAPA, FMEA, SPC, and control plans. 
Understanding of APQP and supplier quality planning. 
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and dimensional requirements. 
Knowledge of statistical concepts and data analysis for quality improvement. 
Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and supplier relationship-management skills.
