Duties

Help

  • Serve as a Shift Supervisor for the Law Enforcement force assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at Installation Management Command (IMCOM) supported installations.
  • Provide sworn testimony based on investigative findings.
  • Direct the work of assigned law enforcement officers.
  • Manage all aspects of personnel administration such as evaluating performance, resolving complaints and administering discipline.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
  • This position requires employee to submit to pre-employment and random urinalysis exams and sign a DA Form 5019 drug testing position form.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • This position requires rotating shift work to provide coverage on evening, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • This position may require overtime work.
  • A medical screening/examination is required in accordance with Army Regulation 190-56, Appendix B and C, AR 50-5, AR 50-6, and/or AR 190-59. Immunizations, such as Hepatitis B, may be required.
  • Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
  • Position requires employee to perform daily duties while wearing a uniform and/or protective clothing to include facial/head worn protective masks (SAPR, SCBA, etc.) soft body armor where assigned, and duty belt with police equipment.
  • Must be able to successfully graduate from a United States Army Military Police School accredited Civilian Police Academy.
  • This position is designated as Mission Essential.
  • This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain certification in the use of radar detection and alcohol detection equipment.
  • This position you may be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other associated equipment. As well as be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton
  • Must obtain and maintain yearly influenza vaccination
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret (T3) clearance.
  • Federal law requires removal of federal law enforcement officers convicted of felonies.
  • Must be able to pass an annual medical, and physical agility tests to standards published in AR 190-56, and maintain a level of fitness so as to perform physically demanding and occasionally arduous tasks in the performance of your duties.
  • Must be able to act in the capacity of a first responder to critical incidents. This will include active participation in training and exercises designed to determine the readiness of responding forces.
  • You will execute the lawful orders of critical incident commanders. During critical incidents, you may incur extra shifts and long hours. Such duties may place you in danger of severe personal injury, loss of limb, or even death.
  • Comply with and maintain the requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) IAW 190-56.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes law enforcement operations, practices and techniques to prevent, detect and investigate violations of law, rules and regulations; analyze emergency situations, and coordinate law enforcement activities, and interpret regulations to determine the enforcement of appropriate laws. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills.
