Help

This position serves as the Deputy Director for IT Security to lead and enhance the Divisions information security strategy. The incumbent will ensure that the IT security system complies with regulatory requirements, respond promptly to any potential computer system threats, and provide a hands-on approach when necessary. Manages IT security risks, keeps up to date with technological advancements, and implements new security measures to improve the IT systems of national and international importance. This position is accountable for safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information systems and assets.

The Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC/PLCYPLN) will perform duties such as:

  • Advising senior leadership on workforce investment decisions.
  • Establishing guidelines for employees and contractors.
  • Providing informal feedback to employees.
  • Evaluating employee performance.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC/PLCYPLN), at GS-2210-15, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below.

Basic Qualifications (2210 series): Please refer to the OPM IT Management Series 2210 Qualification Standard for the specific experience requirements for the GS-12 and above positions.

AND

Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-15 grade level, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable non-Federal experience. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing the following duties:

  • Leading a team responsible for reviewing and approving system certifications; AND
  • Supervising cybersecurity staff during incident response activities.

You MUST meet all qualification requirements by the 09/09/2026 of this announcement.
