Supervisor, Visual Merchandising

The Supervisor, Visual Merchandising directs and supports the execution of visual presentation strategies that enhance the guest experience, strengthen brand storytelling, and support sales growth. This role is responsible for the day-to-day visual appearance of the store, ensuring displays, signage, and merchandising standards are executed with creativity, consistency, and attention to detail to create an engaging and customer-focused shopping environment.

• Executes visual merchandising standards, floor sets, and product displays to create an engaging and cohesive retail experience.
• Ensure the sales floor is visually compelling, organized, and aligned with brand and seasonal merchandising strategies.
• Support the development and implementation of merchandising plans that drive customer engagement and sales performance.
• Monitor visual presentation, product placement, and inventory flow to maximize space productivity and product visibility.
• Train and coach associates on merchandising standards, product presentation, and visual upkeep expectations.
• Supports associates during floor changes, replenishment, product moves, and visual resets, as directed by the Retail Manager and/or Assistant Manager of Visual Merchandising.
• Partners with retail operations to support replenishment and efficient execution of floor changes.
• Collaborates with the retail warehouse team to receive, stock, and monitor inventory flow to the sales floor.
• Works closelywith customer experience teams to ensure visual presentation enhances the overall guest journey.
• Analyze sales trends and customer behavior to identify merchandising opportunities and improve product storytelling.
• Maintain cleanliness, fixture organization, signage accuracy, and visual consistency throughout the store.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift.
• Ability to move throughout multiple Museum locations, including galleries, theaters, outdoor spaces, and other public areas.
• Ability to maintain an active and visible presence while providing exceptional guest service.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, public-facing environment with large groups of guests, including school groups, tours, special events, and peak attendance periods, while maintaining professionalism, situational awareness, and composure.
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs as needed.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 25 pounds, including wheelchairs, stanchions, signage, guest service equipment, and other operational materials.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and colleagues in person, by telephone, and over two-way radio.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
• Ability to maintain awareness of guest activity and surrounding conditions while monitoring galleries, queues, and public spaces.

• 2+ years of experience in visual merchandising, retail display, or store presentation, preferably in a museum, cultural institution, specialty retail, or consumer brand environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong understanding of visual merchandising principles, including floor sets, product placement, signage, fixture use, customer flow, and storytelling through retail presentation
• Demonstrated ability to execute merchandising plans, promotional displays, and seasonal changes with accuracy, creativity, and attention to detail
• Experience directing, training, and coaching associates on visual standards, floor set execution, replenishment, and presentation upkeep
• Ability to organize priorities, respond to shifting business needs, and maintain visual standards in a fast-paced, public-facing retail environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and work effectively across Retail, Operations, and Customer Experience teams
• Proficiency with retail technology, POS systems, and Microsoft Office preferred
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed
