Job Description

General Purpose of Job:

Supervises work activities of all Caregivers in Sterile Process (CSS) Department. Responsible for department function and staff activities in the absence of the Department Manager.

Essential Duties:

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

• Provide direction, training, and continual guidance to supervisory staff and Caregivers.
• Responsible to see that work assignments are carried out within established guidelines.
• Monitors daily individual performance and resource utilization and is accountable for the results.
• Maintains an atmosphere that supports and encourages high performance, teamwork, and continual improvement of all associates.
• Monitors customer satisfaction and initiates corrective actions.
• Assists in development of departmental budget and goals.
• Assists Caregivers with duties as needed
• Initiate and lead department with quality assurance, and process improvement

Job Requirements

General Requirements Required Responsibilities of the Caregiver: • Demonstrates knowledge and maintains and respects patient right to privacy by following the HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures. • Adheres to ICARE values and standards of behavior (Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence). • Role model behaviors that value the diversity of our caregivers, patients and customers and supports creating an environment that is inclusive, welcoming and respectful. • Adheres to established best practices (i.e. Rounding, Thank You Notes, AIDET, etc.). • Demonstrates commitment to safety by establishing an environment in which safety issues are promptly reported and appropriate actions are taken. • Adheres to policies and procedures designed to avoid, prevent and reduce the spread of communicable diseases. Work Experience • 1 year leadership experience • 1 year clinical experience in Surgical Services. Education Education: • Associate degree OR High School Diploma and three years' experience clinical experience in Sterile Processing License / Certification: •SPD certification or CRCST certification within 6 months hire Specialized Knowledge and Skills Skills & Abilities: • Strong oral and written communication skills • Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Preferred: • Bachelor's degree
