    As part of our continued investment in our Scotland Asset Management business, we are seeking an experienced Supervisor to join our Central & East Depot team based in Glasgow.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and safety-focused individual to take responsibility for the supervision and delivery of civil engineering asset maintenance works, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

    The Opportunity

    Reporting to the Site Manager, you will play a key role in leading operational teams and coordinating maintenance activities across a varied portfolio of rail and infrastructure assets.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe planning, supervision and execution of works, ensuring compliance with company procedures, client requirements and industry standards.

    You will act as a key interface between site operatives, management teams and clients, driving a culture of safety, quality, collaboration and continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and supervise site teams undertaking civil engineering asset maintenance activities.
    • Ensure all works are planned and delivered safely in accordance with company procedures, Safe Systems of Work and client requirements.
    • Carry out site briefings, toolbox talks and safety inspections.
    • Monitor quality, productivity and programme performance, intervening where necessary to maintain delivery targets.
    • Ensure plant, materials and labour resources are effectively coordinated.
    • Identify and proactively manage risks and operational challenges.
    • Maintain accurate site records, reports and documentation.
    • Support the implementation of best practice health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, promoting high standards of performance and behaviour.
    • Liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, subcontractors and client representatives.
    • Support the development and mentoring of site operatives and emerging supervisors.

    About You

    We're looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with excellent leadership skills.

    Essential Experience

    • Previous experience in a supervisory role within civil engineering, infrastructure, rail or maintenance environments.
    • Proven ability to lead and motivate operational teams.
    • Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements.
    • Experience coordinating multiple work activities within a live operational environment.
    • Ability to prioritise workloads and make effective decisions under pressure.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

    Essential Qualifications

    • SSSTS or SMSTS.
    • Full UK Driving Licence.

    Desirable

    • Rail industry experience.
    • Network Rail infrastructure maintenance experience.
    • Personal Track Safety (PTS).
    • First Aid qualification.
    • Knowledge of asset maintenance and inspection activities.
