Job Title: Protection Services Supervisor

What we're looking for:
We are looking for a hands-on Protection Services Supervisor to help protect our employees, facilities, assets, information, and business operations across four Washington locations. This position will lead the day-to-day work of Security Officers while also participating directly in site security activities. At our Quincy site, this is a working-supervisor assignment where one Protection Services employee is typically staffed at a time, so you will move between supervisory responsibilities and frontline duties throughout the shift. Because the facilities are unfenced and ungated, you will maintain strong situational awareness and take a proactive approach to identifying unusual activity, safety concerns, and operational irregularities.
While the products handled at these facilities have not historically attracted significant theft activity, consistent observation and sound judgment remain essential. You will coach employees, manage performance, support training, review incidents, conduct inspections, and coordinate emergency and alarm responses. You will also build productive relationships with site employees, operational leaders, emergency responders, and law enforcement partners. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys leading people, making thoughtful decisions, and remaining actively involved in daily operations.
A typical day may include:
- Conducting interior and exterior patrols and site inspections
- Monitoring an open facility environment for unusual activity or operational concerns
- Working at the security desk, answering phones, and responding to employee requests
- Managing access needs, including opening secured areas for authorized individuals
- Responding to emergencies, alarms, safety concerns, and unexpected events
- Documenting, reviewing, and investigating incidents
- Reviewing Security Officer reports and completing supervisory documentation
- Coaching employees on policies, procedures, performance expectations, and professional development
- Managing schedules, daily assignments, goals, and performance activities
- Supporting the hiring and onboarding of new Security Officers
- Delivering or coordinating training in CPR, First Aid, AED, fire extinguisher response, and related topics
- Monitoring production operations for irregularities, malfunctions, or issues requiring follow-up
- Completing local compliance activities and leading incident investigations
- Coordinating with law enforcement or emergency response agencies when appropriate
- Supporting Protection Services projects, process improvements, and department initiatives
- Traveling between Quincy, Ephrata, Trout Lake West and East Farms based on operational needs
- Providing consultation or response support when significant operational needs arise
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Fire Sciences, Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- At least three years of related experience in security, fire services, law enforcement, or a comparable protection services environment
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification, or ability to meet the organization’s certification requirements
- Experience guiding, coaching, training, or leading employees
- Understanding of protection services practices, site emergency planning, and emergency preparedness
- Experience interacting with local, state, federal, or other law enforcement agencies
- Experience responding to incidents, alarms, safety concerns, or emergency situations
- Ability to use standard office technology and security-related systems
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Washington Concealed Pistol License
- Ability to travel between assigned Washington sites
- Ability to meet the role’s physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing and walking for extended periods, walking distances of up to one mile, bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds
- Ability to provide consultation or response support based on operational needs

What’s Special About this Team
Protection Services helps safeguard employees, visitors, facilities, physical assets, intellectual property, and ongoing operations. The Washington team supports four distinct locations: Quincy, Ephrata, West Farms, and East Farms. Across the operation, this supervisor may oversee approximately seven to ten Security Officers, although staffing models differ by site.
The Quincy assignment offers a distinctive working-supervisor environment. Rather than spending the entire shift overseeing several officers in person, the supervisor is often the sole Protection Services employee on site and remains directly involved in patrols, desk coverage, access requests, phone response, incident management, and daily site needs. This creates an opportunity to lead with both credibility and firsthand operational knowledge.
The team works closely with production employees, site leaders, emergency responders, and law enforcement partners to support a secure and prepared workplace. Team members are expected to remain observant, communicate clearly, and respond professionally to both routine requests and unexpected events. The supervisor also contributes to training, emergency preparedness, compliance activities, investigations, and continuous improvement projects across the broader Protection Services function.
