    Description:

    Purpose: identify areas for improvement, and ultimately enhance the patient experience by ensuring agents handle all calls and patient interactions appropriately, provide accurate information, and resolve issues effectively. This can be achieved by the supervisor through monitoring calls for quality assurance, evaluating performance metrics, and providing regular feedback to agents.

    What you will do:

    • Is knowledgeable of and ensures that supervised Associates are knowledgeable of applicable current compliance policies and procedures, laws and regulatory developments including their responsibility to comply with applicable laws, regulations and Holy Cross Hospital policies as a condition of employment, as well as reporting mechanisms such as the corporate compliance hotline.
    • Ensures that Associates complete compliance orientation and ensures and arranges for ongoing specific risk training (applicable to the department) on a regular basis throughout the year.
    • Provides appropriate assistance regarding monitoring techniques to reasonably assure compliance in supervised functional areas, including the submission of reports of suspect non-compliance to the Compliance Officer so that further evaluation can be performed.
    • Interviews and hires associates necessary to meet departmental goals and objectives in an efficient and effective manner.
    • Directs staff schedules and work flow in order to effectively utilize department and hospital resources. Maximizes the prompt, efficient and effective admission of hospital patients, assignments of patient accommodations and cashiering while maintaining excellent public relations.
    • Ensures an efficient and effective patient registration process. This process includes a smooth patient flow from arrival to room placement while maintaining accurate data entry into the hospital information systems.
    • Ensures the overall coordination of patient bed placement, transfers and control in an efficient and appropriate manner.
    • Ensures that patients, whose insurances require pre-certification are properly and promptly processed so that appropriate reimbursement can be obtained from third party payors.
    • Ensures that all insurance coverage is promptly verified for both coverage and benefits. Ensures that appropriate action is taken with the patient or responsible party to protect the hospital against financial loss for those amounts not covered by insurance.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    * Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

    * Requires prior customer service related experience and experience with Charity Care. Requires knowledge of registration processes and basic computer knowledge and skills.

    * Requires excellent organizational and communication skills and decision-making ability.

    * Prior supervisory experience in a hospital or managed care environment preferred.
