Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to lead operations within the Packline Department at its Eclectic, Alabama facility. This position will supervise up to 20 employees and is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and productive manufacturing operations while maintaining high standards for quality and customer delivery.
The ideal candidate will have previous production supervision or manufacturing leadership experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively lead employees in a fast-paced shop floor environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise, lead, coach, and develop up to 20 employees within the Packline Department.
- Establish priorities, communicate job expectations, monitor performance, and ensure production goals are achieved.
- Provide leadership and direction to improve operating efficiency, safety, quality, productivity, and employee performance.
- Hire, train, develop, and mentor employees to ensure maximum performance and maintain a strong production team.
- Manage workflow by monitoring production processes, equipment, personnel, control points, and process variables.
- Read and analyze work orders, production schedules, charts, and other production records to determine requirements and evaluate output.
- Monitor production performance and make adjustments as needed to meet schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Review and distribute production, work, cycle count, and shipment schedules.
- Complete and maintain administrative responsibilities, including time and attendance, holiday and vacation planning, production reports, backorder reviews, past-due lists, and safety violations or concerns.
- Monitor production progress and communicate completion dates and potential delays.
- Confer with other department supervisors to coordinate workflow, production priorities, and completion dates.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and support the implementation of Lean manufacturing practices.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Address employee performance issues through coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action when appropriate.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive, action-oriented workplace culture.
